Its been so busy for us graduating student’s during this week since it was our research defense and we are preparing for the Grand Expo. It seems like a lot of students are cycling through a constant schedule of school, homework, extracurricular activities, sleep, and repeat, pushing on towards the weekend where they will have a small break. But this small break is not totally a break because there are always a time where we will go to school and do some preparations and practices in there for presentation in the school days.

It was hard because we were anxious and nervous for the defense. We were scared because what if we cannot answer the questions of our panel? what if they will reject it? and what if we will be having a re-defense?. But thankfully it was not, our defense was fast and we answered their questions.

We all experience stress. Some stress we need to drive us to get things accomplished; but when stress builds, we start to feel the effects. It’s very important that we all do what we need to to balance our stress levels, and remain healthy (Doporto Livia). This phrase enlightens me thats its okay to be stress because it is always a part of our life but you should too always look for your health.

Always remember “Strive for progress, not perfection”

Experiencing an adult work is exciting and exhausting. Immersion programme is a form of experiential development education which sees students from the so-called developed world ‘immersed’ in the culture and day-to-day life of their peers in the developing world (google). Immersion is also a way to introduce the environment of your dream job. It gives you the hardship you will work for and the happiness you can gain from it.

My own experience of this immersion is really one of the best. As you all know that my strand is Humanities and Social Science, and my sub-strand is Social Science thats why I was assign to the Court’s Judge Office in Hall of Justice here on our city. I was so nervous at first because I am going to work not just for an attorney but to the Judge! I am so scared to do something that might go wrong or to say something that is not right. But then Judge Fe was so very kind and good as well as her staff because they treat me properly and they made me comfortable sitting at the office.

My job there is to arranged some criminal cases and paste the decisions on a record book. When I still have time, I love to look around the office and read some cases. During break time, the staffs would offer us some foods to eat or buy something and put it on our desk. When I try something new, I always have some realization with it. This week I realized that I love office work and I love working with papers than what my mom trying to push me with being a teacher.

Therefore, Immersion can help a students a lot especially on deciding with which field they want to work to and which course they want to take. As for me, I want something that can make me happy and be contented. I know what it is by now and I want to achieve it.

I have this excitement of stepping up in college and at the same time there is a sadness of leaving highschool. My feelings while taking picture for our year book is fascinating, I looked and observed each and everyone at my class. They were all happy because finally they will leave highschool.

I am so happy too because the moment I am waiting for is coming and finally I am so near on having a job. Yes, I am looking forward to just study in college for four years and after that I am hoping of having a great job.

But at the moment of posing a smile at the camera got me awake, Is this really happening? Did I really make it this far?.Despite all of the raging emotions im to trying to recognized, happiness is by far the most powerful. I am finally being rewarded for all the hard work, sleepless nights and exhaustions in school. I felt like this is my day to own it and just be happy for what I have achieved.

Above all, One thing is for sure for me, If our graduation comes I will surely miss my crazy classmates and always looked for the comfort they gave me. I will miss the laughters, the talks we shared and the support they gave each and everyone of us. They are the best persons I met in my senior highschool years.

To Grade 12- St. John the Baptist lets graduate all together 🙂

This week is very painful, not only for me but to all people here in the world. There are a thousand of news that the people of china who is sick with corona virus are dying. The neighbor countries are also affected, the people are so scared. This novel coronavirus (nCoV) is a new coronavirus that has not been previously identified. The 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), is not that same as the coronaviruses that commonly circulate among humans and cause mild illness, like the common cold.

A diagnosis with coronavirus 229E, NL63, OC43, or HKU1 is not the same as a 2019-nCoV diagnosis. These are different viruses and patients with 2019-nCoV will be evaluated and cared for differently than patients with common coronavirus diagnosis.Public health officials and partners are working hard to identify the source of the 2019-nCoV. Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses, some causing illness in people and others that circulate among animals, including camels, cats and bats. Analysis of the genetic tree of this virus is ongoing to know the specific source of the virus. SARS, another coronavirus that emerged to infect people, came from civet cats, while MERS, another coronavirus that emerged to infect people, came from camels (Summary: Source and Spread of the Virus).

This virus probably originally emerged from an animal source but now seems to be spreading from person-to-person. It’s important to note that person-to-person spread can happen on a continuum.

In this case on my country which is the Philippines there is one person from Wuhan, China who is positive in corona virus. People here are alarmed and the mask are all sold out. Even us are trying hard to find where we can buy mask for our safety. My week is very scary due to this disease, we can only pray for our safety and health. I am also praying for the healing of the people in Wuhan China.

Whatever happens we just need to always follow the word of the Lord. Psalm 197:20 (NIV), “He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.”

Being a student is really hard because you need to always use your mind upon answering, reciting and doing some activities. But the tail of having the pressure to do something brilliantly is Fun. Yes, going to school is fun because you get to meet your friends and interact with other people. There are also a lot of activities in school aside for academics, we have a clubs for your skills and talents like the sports club, Pintura club (for paintings), CommArts and many more. I am a grade 12 senior highschool student now, and being a graduating student we hardly have a class because our graduation is coming. By March we are already graduates, so for this month (January) our teachers will teach us a lesson for exactly one hour because the lessons is just too short so we have a lot of time to do something we want to do.

Aside from we are making our research paper, we also have a time for a movie marathon. Watching movie with my classmates is fun! especially when we were watching a horror movie their faces was really hilarious. This became our bonding because we knew when we step into college we can hardly see each other because of different schedules and some of them will go to school outside of our City. Everyone in our class is just so amazing because I can always see our unity despite of our differences. Our class is composed of Muslims and Christian but having a different religions doesnt stop us from making a UNITY , instead having that differences teaches us to RESPECT each and everyone.

Thats why School is fun, always remember the quote of Beverly Sills that “There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.”

Every students weakness is their thesis or research paper, these two brings sleepless nights, tears and STRESS. My week has been very stressful for me since our defense is fast approaching and we haven’t made our chapter 4 yet. Im literally exhausted from thinking too much on what to do. But as I think and think I came up with an idea that am I being too pressure with my ownself?.

Ive realized that im not the only one who worked hard for this research, that i have my group mate to help me solve our problem. A big realization hit me that sometimes its not the work who gave us STRESS but its our own self. We only need to look for a positive side and motivate our self that there will always a time that our problem can be solve. There is God whom we can call for guidance and help to survive our challenges in life.

So, stress is really just a word. We can avoid stress by managing our time and also by working hard by not putting pressure on your self. We should always remember that we are only HUMANS, we cannot do everything at once, we always need the help of others in order to be progressive in life. We dont need to be slave of stress because this brings bad health to us, we should enjoy each time of our life especially when you are a graduating student because if we enjoyed the time of being with our classmates whether its bad or good this will become a precious memory to us.

I really do have a lot of realization in life as i gave my self a time to reflect and to think clearly on what should i do next. I really love to share you my realization last week, because somehow i am hoping that this can help you. Give your self to rest and reflect because mind you, you can think an answer on your problem if you do that. Always remember the quote of Thomas Edison that “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.
